Background

TNT Fireworks, America's #1 bestselling brand of fireworks, has a rich history that traces back to 1920. It all started with Clyde W. Anderson selling fireworks from his newsstand in Florence, AL. The business expanded significantly in 1946 when Charles Anderson Sr., at the age of 12, set up a fireworks stand near a grocery store. This marked his first venture into running his own business.

Over the years, the company has seen substantial growth. In 1965, Charles Anderson Sr. and Chan Fu Yu formed Anco Yu Far East Co., a Hong Kong-based exporter, significantly expanding their reach. The TNT brand first appeared in commerce in 1966. The company’s growth was marked by several mergers and acquisitions, including with Milton Dropo's company, Dixie Fireworks, and later Washington Fireworks.

TNT Fireworks today operates in 49 states in the USA, as well as in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Puerto Rico. From its humble beginnings at a roadside newsstand, TNT now services over 40,000 big box retail locations, 5,500 seasonal stands or tents, 25 Supercenters, and hundreds of wholesalers. Celebrating over 100 years in business, TNT Fireworks has made a name for itself as a leader in the fireworks industry, known for its wide range of products that include aerials, fountains, reloadables, and novelty items.

Objective

For the bustling July 4th week, a period synonymous with heightened sales and increased foot traffic, T.N.T Fireworks anticipated a significant surge in customers. To address the challenges associated with this influx, they enlisted our services. The primary objective was to ensure the safety and smooth management of the crowd during this peak period.

Solution

To meet this need, T.N.T Fireworks hired an armed guard from our team to greet and welcome people at the front doors. This was a strategic move to not only provide a sense of security but also to present a strong and reassuring presence to the customers. Additionally, our role extended to crowd control management. This was crucial to prevent overcrowding, ensure a smooth flow of foot traffic, and maintain a safe and enjoyable shopping experience for all customers during the busy Independence Day celebrations.

Results

The security assignment for T.N.T Fireworks during their busy July 4th week was met with great success by our team at CGSS. Our armed guard was pivotal in addressing a variety of challenges that arose during this peak period. The presence of the guard effectively deterred potential thefts, a key concern for retail businesses during high-traffic events.

Moreover, our guard skillfully managed situations involving customers who attempted to vape inside the building and those bringing in their dogs, ensuring adherence to the store’s policies and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for all shoppers. This proactive approach in handling diverse issues contributed significantly to the smooth operation of the store.

Additionally, our team played an instrumental role in assisting the T.N.T Fireworks employees with closing up shop towards the end of the night, further ensuring the security and orderliness of the premises. Overall, our comprehensive approach to security management, ranging from crowd control to theft prevention, led to a successful and secure shopping experience for T.N.T Fireworks and its customers during one of their busiest times of the year.
